  • Scope: Validate the entire recovery path using a temporary or scratch environment.
  • Key Tasks:
    • Spin up a blank, isolated virtual machine.
    • Test restoring the cluster state using a saved K3s snapshot.
    • Mount the Longhorn backup target and verify you can successfully restore an application volume from a backup block.
